Media and Technology

To truly understand the needs of a modern newsroom, I started one. Layers Media is a digital student newspaper employing proven web technologies to provide otherwise untold student news that I started while completing my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Florida Polytechnic. During that, I also wrote for the local newspaper, LkldNow, as a news intern.

I earned my Master of Science in Journalism at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communications and Journalism in Los Angeles.

Previously, I was a broadcast engineer for KGW-TV, where I managed infrastructure and provided support to the newsroom. Then I moved to KGW’s parent company, TEGNA Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Nexstar Media LLC), where I managed NRCS on an enterprise level, architected asset management solutions, and helped deploy and refine next-generation production workflows.

Now, I’m a media systems engineer at Oregon Public Broadcasting in Portland, OR, where I support audio and video workflows.
